Ice Time

It's likely a waste of time for your bender unless he's Coyotes AAA. The player selection is rather lazy. Sure there are no names on jerseys, but once the coaches see decent size with a red helmet, the player then advances. Have fun lighting your $100 on fire and telling yourself "hey its ice time."

Sounds about right. The last thing happening at the camp is development.

My son did the camp over the weekend. He had a good time and held his own with some of the better players in town. I'm not sure he'll move on to the district camp, but to say it's a waste of time just makes it sound like you got burned.

Curious to hear what others would pick:
- 2007 Goalie AZ Player Dev Camp
or
- net minding on a 2007 CCM Select Team at the ChiTown Shuffle in the Elite Division.

Shame they both take place at the same time.

Spring and summer tournaments are typically just money grabs but they'll get to meet some new kids.
The player development camp can put your kids name on a national radar if they're good enough.

The Chicago trip will probably be a more fun overall "experience", but the development camp can lead to future opportunities.
As a 2007, I'd lean towards the experience and save the career advancement until next year.
