ISO Private Goalie Coach, Tier, 14U/16U

Looking for pointers on a solid goalie coach that works out of ID-Scottsdale, Arcadia or Oceanside; with a focus on: goalie crease movement, foot speed, skating out of net, playing puck up ice, reading systems and communication.

Relocated into town at start of season.  Quietly observed the season.  Based on previous experiences, concluding that gaps exist in the goalie coaching at his club; figure free-lance is how I need to address the gap.

Thinking of working power skating with Boris’ crew at Arcadia; opinions on that welcome as well.

Thanks in advance.

It's likely a waste of time for your bender unless he's Coyotes AAA. The player selection is rather lazy. Sure there are no names on jerseys, but once the coaches see decent size with a red helmet, the player then advances. Have fun lighting your $100 on fire and telling yourself "hey its ice time."

  Ahsha covid rule

Why issue a rule on limited attendance with no intention to follow?
Grandparents are missing my son's final high school games because ahsha said only parents.
Meanwhile the stands are loaded with girlfriends and students clearly in violation of the policy.

Anyone know when tryouts will begin? My little bender's ready to be done with his lousy coach and move onto greener pastures.

  Ranking of Local Rink Dining

  1. AZ Ice Gilbert - two actual restaurants and a bar. If you can't find anything to eat here, you're too picky.

  2. Ice Den Scottsdale - good food in a nice atmosphere. Only complaint is the value. Small portions for high prices. They should have expanded the rink view windows with the rennovation.

  3. Ice Den Chandler - nearly the same as Scottsdale but without the pizza oven. Great view of the rink from almost anywhere.

  4. AZ Ice Arcadia - Good stiff drinks often on special too. You may go home smelling like a deep fryer though.

  5. AZ Ice Peoria - Almost like Arcadia, but with worse seating. Beer doesn't seem cold enough. I'm not sure this kitchen would pass an inspection.

  6. Open Bag of stale Goldfish in your car

  7. Oceanside - Enjoy your popcorn and cup of Maxwell House.

Tier 1 in AZ. Just one org?
Posted by: anon - 01-31-2021, 02:15 PM - Forum: Arizona Youth Hockey - Replies (3)

Hearing DY and Bobcats are having their Tier 1 status rescinded.
If true, it's a new day for AZ youth hockey. Neither organization has any business being AAA.
Not because they're poorly run. Just because there is not enough talent in AZ (yet).

A pre-Covid-19 survey of boys’ interscholastic high school hockey in North America.
Posted by: Dr Matt - 01-16-2021, 11:16 PM - Forum: AHSHA - Arizona High School Hockey - No Replies

Below is a link to the research paper  enjoy

https://www.researchgate.net/publication...th_America

Abstract
A comparative study was performed that included the analysis of demographic and competitive rating data for
boys’ interscholastic high school ice hockey teams located in the North America. A composite rating profile
was generated using SportsoftTM windows-based software (least-squares method) that reduced the raw game
scores of over 146,000 games played by 5,479  boys’ teams in both United States and Canada between the
ages of 15 to 18.  Individual rating profiles for each state high school league were extracted, tabulated, trend
lines plotted and analysed.  State rating profiles were grouped by region and comparative graphs were plotted
using the state of  Minnesota as a common benchmark.

Keywords: least-squares, ice hockey, rating profile, Minnesota

Outbreaks happening in rinks all over the valley. Only a matter of time before another shut down occurs like over the summer. Make sure the inline skates are ready for driveway hockey.
